 Personality

• One of the first things that can be picked up from Hythlodaeus is that he's kind-hearted and friendly. He takes a good deal in his stride and gets along well with people, in stark contrast to his more stoic and grouchy best friend.
  
• Hythlodaeus likes to help others, either by encouraging them or by doing whatever he can to make their lives easier. He often slips off when unneeded to secretly aid Azem.
  
• Like Azem, he enjoys tormenting Hades to the point of frustration. He seems to find a deep level of enjoyment in seeing him irritable or flustered. When it actually goes to the point of upsetting him, however, he's quick to notice and steer things in a better direction.
  
• He can be seen as smug at times (mostly by Hades).
  
• Despite his casual attitude, Hythlodaeus is quite intelligent and sharp. He's also noticably aware of every application for a concept that passes his bureau, indicating that he either reviews them all personally or has the people under him keep him aware of at least the basic idea of every single application.
  
• Because of his poor ability to manipulate aether, Hythlodaeus has a disparaging attitude towards his own skills. It isn't to the level of depression, but it's affected his entire life to the point where his goals are entirely centered around others.
  
• Hythlodaeus' life goal is to support his friends in theirs. He wants more than anything for the three of them to return to the star together, having lived happy, satisfying lives.
